Kathleen F. Kelly-Artist
Kathleen was born of an artistic family in Western New York (Buffalo) where she still resides. Trained originally as a commercial artist, Kathleen returned to college where she received her BFA and MFA at SUNY colleges. For a while she juggled both family and career, teaching art at all levels in local schools. Her passion, however, belongs to fine art.
Kathleen is a student of human nature, studying the cultures and landscapes of Western New York and of other countries. She refers to the sketchbooks kept of her travels as memories. Often a memory becomes an inspiration for a painting. As a result, her paintings vary in subject, reflecting her current interest. Her paintings are achieved in both her studio and en plein aire.
Kathleen Kelly has traveled extensively, receiving much recognition and many awards in the art community. Her work may be found in corporate and private collections.
